FAQ'S - When will my worktop be delivered?

If I place an order today when will my worktop be delivered? 

This is a common question and one we encourage our customers to ask.

 

Most worktops can be delivered the next day if requested and if ordered before noon. The usual delivery time frame for stocked items is 2-4 days depending on the product or postcode for delivery. 

Our worktops are delivered directly to our customers from the manufacturer's distributor warehouse. Each delivery is kerbside and instructions regarding delivery are sent to each customer with their delivery date. 

We encourage our customers to call or email us to check stock and delivery dates before placing an order especially if there is a deadline. Stock can move very quickly as our distributors deal with stockists nationwide.  

In addition, not all worktops are stocked. Formica worktops for example now have a 5-10 day lead time on some sizes or decors. This reduces stockpiling and the wastage of material. 

For items as above; When an order is placed with us, the worktops are then ordered from the manufacturer and then in turn delivered to the distributor's warehouse. A delivery date is then given to our customers. 

Is delivery available in my area? Firstly, the quick answer to this is that it would depend on the product. Not all brands can be delivered to all areas. Some manufacturer distributors do not deliver nationwide. You can simply double-check this by going to the Delivery information page on our website. You can also email or call us. 

What if the worktop I want is not available for delivery to my area?  If this is the case, most decors/colours are also available in other brands. The white sparkle or the Carrara marble decor for example is such a popular design that most manufacturers do have one that is similar in their own current collection. We very rarely struggle to find an alternative for our customers. We have so many to choose from.   

Can I choose my delivery date? Yes, our customers can choose their delivery date. When placing an order on the SSKD website, there is a notes box section. Your date request would simply be typed in there. We would then request those date choices from the distributor. If the distributor does not go to your postcode on the day requested we would advise you of the alternative days available. 

Can I change my delivery date? Yes, you can change your delivery date. If once you receive a date it is no longer convenient, this can also be changed as long as the distributor goes to your area on those days or dates. All we ask is for this to be requested at least 48 hours before the existing delivery date so the delivery schedule does not then need to be amended.  

Made-to-order worktops: Minerva, Metis, and Maia's solid surface worktops are the same as the above with Formica, however, there is a three-week lead time for all Carysil products. 

Bespoke worktops: bespoke worktops are exactly that; they are made for you and made to your measurements. This means that there will be approximately a 3-week lead time for production, shipping from the manufacturer to the warehouse, and then delivery to your property. 

Out-of-stock items: If when an order is placed, we discover that the item is out of stock we allow our customers to either wait until the worktop or item is back in stock or assist with finding an alternative worktop within either the same brand or another very similar brand. Most brands do tend to have similar decors.  Alternatively, a refund can be given immediately if requested.
